Introduction –
72 Kg is an extremely short film, shot with a mobile phone and also an award winning work written and directed by Thamar.
Synopsis –
The protagonist, the hero of the film turns a beggar into an entrepreneur, a service provider with a single gesture of kindness. This is what the story is all about.
Analysis –
72 kg is refreshing story, soaked in radical concept and a poignant portrayal of emotions. Our only peeve – it should have been made using at least a DSLR instead of Samsung Galaxy Note 5. OR maybe there is a reason. Maybe the organizers of Dubai International Film Festival contest had made it mandatory for the participants to shoot their films through mobile devices. Whatever the reason, we wish to see this film once again, even after seven years since its release, in an extended format, a better setting and captured via professional camera.
