Introduction –

Shivam Sharma aka Swagger Sharma is known for his comedy acts on YouTube. With more than 5 million subscribers to his channel he is one of the fastest growing artists. His recent entry into the web series business has catapulted him to newer heights of success. His earlier series “Meri IIT Wali GF” ( 2019 – Garnering more than 10 million views ) was a huge hit which turned him into an instant hit with the youth. “Maid for each other” is no different. It has some light moments but towards the end the genre evolves into a serious subject.

Synopsis –

The film opens up to a sensual scene, and that too in an office where Charu ( Akanksha Singh ), Shivam’s ( Swagger Sharma ) boss and girlfriend is enacting with her wrists handcuffed and apologizing. Although the fetish act looks quite outlandish it nonetheless offers a perfect opening. The drama comes to an abrupt halt when Shivam gets a call from his mother. She tells to come home because his father is ill.

Shivam promises Charu to return within a couple of days. Back home he realizes that there was a mistake. His father is perfectly alright. Here is bumps into Saniya ( Lavina Khanchandani ), a young girl, almost his age and the daughter of their maid who died a few days back.

Shivam takes a liking for the maid’s daughter. He also realizes that Saniya can converse in English and she is pretty looking too. What she needs is a little brush-up and grooming. He starts teaching her English grammar, mannerisms and social etiquettes. He even gifts her trendy dress. On Saniya’s birthday he takes her out for dinner. Unfortunately, Shivam’s servant who has a crush on Saniya sees them entering Saniya’s living quarters, actually a room in the outhouse.

The film picks up tempo from thereon. Charu calls up on Shivam’s landline number because he’s turned incommunicado. Interestingly, it is attended by his servant. Then early morning all hell breaks loose. Charu arrives at Shivam’s house and catches him and Saniya red handed. After she departs, Shivam’s parents who were out of town for a few days also return. The brain behind all these co-ordinated events is none other than the servant. Watch this simple, lovey-dovey movie to know the outcome, although some of the serious twists in the end did surprise us.

Analysis –

There are some movies which are meant to be enjoyed without prejudice. “Maid for each other” is one of them. The story is simple; however the climax is slightly disappointing. We loved the overall concept, the direction and the editing. Everything appeared seamless. On the performance front, Shivam Sharma proves once again that he is never short of talent. Akanksha Singh is inspiring to watch. On the other hand Lavina khanchandani seemed a little restrained, especially with her expressions.
