Introduction –
As per Terribly Tiny Tales YouTube channel, Kaande Pohe is a Maharashtrian snack, traditionally served when a boy visits a girls’ family for the first time in an arranged marriage set up. The day is called ‘Kaande Pohe Cha Kaaryakaram’.
Synopsis –
The film begins with Sanjay’s ( Tushar Pandey ) family entering Manisha’s ( Ahsaas Channa ) house and then as a traditional ritual they are served Kaande Pohe. Over small talk, Manisha’s parents try to impress Sanjay’s mother and father.
Manisha reveals her secret in private
Sanjay is asked to talk to Manisha in private. The two catch up on a small terrace where Manisha’s brother, Paapya ( Monu Kanojiya ) joins them. Over the next few minutes the two talk about their likes, dislikes and their secrets. Sanjay says he is a progressive guy. He wants to know if Manisha would like to work after their marriage.
Manisha says that she is already working. Sanjay is stumped. She shows Sanjay some of her reels and her impressive fan following on Instagram / Facebook ( Assumed ) … watch the movie to know how Sanjay reacts to this revelation.
Analysis –
Ahsaas Channa needs no introduction. She is an excellent actor and proved it once again. Tushar Pandey, who actually has a slight resemblance to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, could have been better in terms of matching the dialogs with complementing expressions. Direction and cinematography fall short of expectation.
The film does well in portraying social media as a profession & its growing acceptance
